Things to Do In & Around Ithaca

Ithaca NY and Cayuga Lake offer an abundance of wonderful experiences. The serene beauty of the gorges and waterfalls is all around and can be viewed from the road, a five minute walk, or 30 minute hike. The Cayuga Wine trail offers a wide variety of wines to taste, amazing views and places to have lunch and dinner. Ithaca boasts world class: art galleries, boutiques, microbreweries, distilleries, restaurants, and the Carl Sagan Planetary walk. There golf, too... and lots of ice cream... Happily, the list goes on and on...

In the Finger Lakes region, a winding path leads wine connoisseurs to an experience as memorable as a finely aged Cabernet. With 16 wineries to explore, you'll have plenty of options to indulge your taste buds. From crisp whites to bold reds, the wineries along the trail produce a variety of wines and flavors. The history of the trail is as rich as the wines it produces. It's the oldest wine trail in the United States, tracing its roots back to Mary Plane of Cayuga Vineyards. So grab a glass, take a sip, and immerse yourself in the beauty and flavors of this historic wine trail.

Living on the East side of Cayuga Lake is wonderful; there's a lot to do and see. The countryside surrounding Ithaca, NY is rich with abundant farm land, world class universities, nurseries, golf courses, waterfalls, gorges, antiques, art, wineries & breweries.... together forming a uniquely diverse and breath-taking landscape. I've developed the following list of some of my favorite places which are close by, so that as our guest you can enjoy every detail of the area as a local would.
